David Clay I have the Extech. I don’t recommend it. Beeps constantly turning on off in a pocket or tool pouch and pins become loose a lot. It works great, but it annoys me…

FLIR MR77 Moisture Meter Pro – About $700
The new FLIR MR77 is a durable, all-in-one moisture meter that has the flexibility of both a pin-less sensor and a wired pin probe. The MR77 gives you the ability to take moisture readings as deep as 0.75-inch underneath the surface of a range of wood species and building materials. The meter is accurate, reliable and it’s also tested to survive a 2 meter drop.
Justin Kirkbride Flir MR77. 700 bux. It connects via Bluetooth to my IR camera which makes it easy to show the moisture issue and the elevated moisture levels all in the same picture. Pretty slick.

The Extech MO297 is an 8-in-1 pin/pinless Moisture Psychrometer with a built-in infrared (IR) thermometer and METERLiNK (Bluetooth) transmitter that wirelessly transmits moisture and humidity data to select FLIR thermal imaging IR cameras to incorporate meter readings with thermal images.
Gary Smith – We’ve been using this meter for about 4 years. It has excellent bluetooth connectivity to our Flir E40BX. It sports both a surface measurement and pin probe. Love it!
